Massive Farmland Subdivision Proposed in Cutchogue, Some History on Strong's Yacht Storage, Vote Plush

Good Morning!
• We're expecting a 30 percent chance of light rain today, mainly after 5 p.m., with mostly cloudy skies, a high temperature near 57 degrees and a northeast wind around 14 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 mph. We're expecting rain overnight, with a low around 46. Rain is in the forecast again on Thursday, mainly after 2 p.m., with a high near 64. Skies are expected to clear to partly sunny on Friday, with a high near 61.
• Down here at Beacon Headquarters in New Suffolk, Voting Plush is all the rage (see photo above). Buster, Biscuit and Claudia are on the ballot. Plush is Biscuit’s party affiliation. Claudia is an independent but she was drafted onto the Plush ticket after the other candidates threw her a bone. If you'd like to vote for humans, our full election guide is here.
• Early voting continues today at any of 28 locations throughout Suffolk County, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hours of early voting vary each day through Nov. 2. Here’s the schedule and locations. On Election Day, Nov. 4, you can only vote at your regular polling place, which you can find online here. Election workers at the early voting site in Peconic on Tuesday told us their site had been
• Two years after proposing an 11 building lot conservation subdivision on 66 acres adjacent to Bridge Lane in Cutchogue, a division of the Soloviev Group is now proposing a much bigger conservation subdivision, of 372 acres, which would include 47 new housing lots. "This new conservation subdivision, in Cutchogue and Peconic, is so big it spans two hamlets," said Southold Town Planning Director Heather Lanza as the town's Planning Board reviewed the new application at their Oct. 6 meeting.
