OLA To Address Southampton Board on ICE Raids, Southold Social Safety Net Emergency Response


Good Morning!
• We're expecting partly sunny skies today, with a high temperature near 51 degrees but wind chill values between 25 and 35 early, with a southwest wind 11 to 15 miles per hour. It will be mostly cloudy overnight, with a low around 39. Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 53, and Friday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
• Southold Town is putting together an emergency response team to address the need for food and heat in the community, as North Fork community non-profits and volunteer groups work to provide food to those in need. Read More.
• OLA of Eastern Long Island is urging residents to come to the Southampton Town Board’s meeting at 1 p.m. today at Town Hall to speak out about the ICE raids conducted last week in Hampton Bays and Westhampton. Find Out More.
• Several public hearings are also on the Southampton Town Board's agenda for this afternoon, including public hearings on the town's 2026 budget and on piercing the state's 2 percent tax levy cap in order to fund that budget, and reducing the terms for zoning and planning board members from seven to four years. • The Cutchogue Civic Association will host a panel discussion around the issue of food surplus, food rescue and food insecurity on the East End this evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Free Library. Find Out More.
• Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor is launching a new theatrical production of the chilling Ray Bradbury classic "Fahrenheit 451" tomorrow at 7 p.m. The story of a dystopian future in which firemen burn books will continue its run at the theater through Nov. 30. Find Out More.
