State Asks for Feedback on Small Business Struggles, Community Housing & Accessory Dwelling Unit Talks, Turkey Trotting

Good Morning!
• We're expecting mostly cloudy skies to gradually give way to sun today, with a high temperature near 47 degrees and a calm wind becoming north around 5 miles per hour. We're expecting increasing clouds overnight, with a low around 35. Friday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 55 and a 20 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. Saturday will start out cloudy, gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 53.
• New York State Assemblyman Tommy John Schiavoni is urging small business owners on the East End to participate in a survey from Assembly Member Marianne Buttenschon's office compiling "the most pressing issues facing New York’s small business owners in preparation for future round-table discussions on legislation and the state resources available to assist small businesses in need." Here's The Survey, which must be completed by Nov. 28.
• North Fork Environmental Council President Mark Haubner will discuss Miawaki MiniForests, which the NFEC is involved in bringing to the East End, at the Southold Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 51900 Main Road in Southold, on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. All are welcome — to find out more, read his recent Climate Local Now column for The Beacon. • The Southampton Town Board will discuss a proposed Community Housing Fund Overlay District at its 10 a.m. work session this morning. Here's the agenda, and the meeting can be viewed live on Sea-TV 's YouTube channel.
• The Riverhead Town Board will discuss a proposed parking plan for downtown, changes to the town code regarding accessory dwelling units and the monthly reports from the town's police, code enforcement, town clerk and justice court at its 10 a.m. work session this morning. • The Greenport Village Board will discuss the village Business Improvement District's operating plan, hotel/motel taxes, bulkhead and utilities relocation, historic building maintenance and renewal of the Peconic Star's license agreement at its 6 p.m. work session this evening. • The East Hampton Town Board holds public hearings on modifying the requirements for accessory dwelling units, improving town garbage and refuse facilities and on CPF acquisitions and scenic and conservation easements at its 6 p.m. regular meeting this evening. • Residents concerned about the recent ICE raids in Hampton Bays and Westhampton Beach are holding an "ICE Out of East Hampton Rally" at East Hampton's Hook Mill at the green at Pantigo Road and North Main Street tomorrow morning, Nov. 21 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
• The Lake Agawam Conservancy is holding a forum, "Restore Our Waters," on funding available for homeowners to upgrade to new nitrogen-reducing septic systems this Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Southampton Cultural Center. All are welcome.
