Federal Agents Scour Hamptons Towns, Hold Fast Studio to Support Greenport Farmers Market, Budget & Tax Cap Hearings

Good Morning!
• We're expecting sunny skies today, with a high temperature near 54 degrees and a northwest wind 13 to 18 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 43 mph. We're expecting mostly clear skies overnight, with a low around 36. Friday will be partly sunny, with a high near 63, and we're expecting a 30 percent chance of rain before 1 p.m. today, with partly sunny skies and a high near 64.
• At about 7 a.m. Wednesday, the Latino advocacy group OLA of Eastern Long Island began receiving reports of a large group of vehicles belonging to federal agents congregating in the parking lot behind the Hampton Bays Fire Department’s Montauk Highway headquarters, setting off a morning-long series of raids that OLA says led to the detention of at least four people in Hampton Bays and two in Westhampton. • The East Hampton Town Board will hold public hearings on overriding the tax levy limit, Community Development Block Grant funding, the 2026 budget, amending the town code regarding tents and approving the cost of clearing the Cantwell Court housing complex at its 6 p.m. meeting this evening.
