• We're expecting increasing clouds today, with a high temperature near 37 degrees and wind chill values between 15 and 25. It will be mostly cloudy overnight, with a 40 percent chance of a wintery mix of rain and snow, with a steady temperature around 32 degrees. Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with. a high near 43 and a 30 percent chance of rain before 1 p.m., and Sunday will be partly sunny, with a high near 42.

• The immigration raids in Hampton Bays appear to be the early warning signs of a new reality, a stark reminder that these federal actions, so far removed from the caring communities in which we live, can do real harm to our relationships with local police and first responders. • The Southampton-based boots on the ground theater is celebrating both the holiday season and the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II the next two weeks, with the staging of "World War II Radio Christmas Play" at the Southampton Cultural Center Dec. 5 through 14. Read More.

• Northeast Stage is offering an alternative to the traditional holiday theater fare, a new play by local playwright James Pritchard, “Lessons from Hollywood,” opening this evening at Greenport's Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Find Out More.

• While Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Shellabration shellfish pairing festival in downtown Greenport has been paused for this year, the Greenport business community has banded together for a weekend-long festivity, Raise Shell, Dec. 5 through 7 honoring all things shellfish. Find Out More.

• The Riverhead Fire Department at 540 Roanoke Avenue hosts a New York Blood Center blood drive today from 1 to 7 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can also be made online here.
