Basketball Brings Greenport Together; Southold Wireless Survey, Sand Sculpture Extravaganza in Hampton Bays, Behind the Headlines

Good Morning!
• We're expecting sunny skies today, with a high temperature near 91 degrees but heat index values as high as 98, with a north wind around 5 miles per hour, becoming west in the afternoon. It will be mostly clear overnight, with a low around 74. We're expecting sunny skies on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs near 90 but heat indexes higher. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the region from 11 a.m. today through 8 p.m. Wednesday.
• The play was intense and the community showed up for NoFo Kid Connect’s annual Greenport Summer Basketball Tournament at the Third Street basketball court on Saturday, where local kids got a chance to show off their skills and participate in friendly competition with kids from throughout the East End. • Southold Town is asking residents to weigh in on a survey about wireless phone coverage in the town, with the hopes of using the information gathered to improve wireless infrastructure on the North Fork. Participate Online Here.
• Southampton Town is hosting a sand sculpture competition from 1 to 4 p.m. today and live music with Foreign Journey — a tribute band playing the music of Foreigner and Journey, starting at 6 p.m. at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays. Find Out More.
• Greenport's Dances in the Park in Mitchell Park continues this evening at 7:30 p.m. with Royal Khaoz's reggae fusion. Find Out More.
