• There's a 20 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m. today, with areas of fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 83 degrees and a calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 miles per hour. It will be mostly clear overnight, with a low around 62. Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny, with highs near 80.

• The Cutchogue Fire Department’s 68th Annual Chicken Barbecue — still Long Island’s largest chicken barbecue — was held Saturday, Aug. 23 at Peconic Bay Vineyard. From afternoon until well in the evening, the Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary served up 3,200 chicken dinners under the big tent and at a takeout stand adjacent to the Main Road. The evening was capped by a performance by the department’s marching band, led by Thomas Roslak. See Our Photos.

• The North Fork Environmental Council’s August panel discussion, "Organic and Beyond-Farming for the Future of the North Fork," will be held this evening at 6:30 p.m. at McCall Vineyard in Cutchogue. Find Out More.

• The Mattituck-Laurel Civic Association hosts a presentation on “What You Need to Know About Irrigation & Conservation" at its monthly meeting at Veterans Beach, also this evening at 6:30 p.m. Here's More Info.

• The Greenport Harbor Brewing Company's Peconic location hosts a New York Blood Center blood drive today from Noon to 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can also be made online here.

• At this weekend’s Behind the Headlines on 88.3 WLIW-FM, Beacon editor Beth Young joins a panel discussing Riverhead & Southold’s reaction to the North Fork water pipeline, recent court decisions regarding cannabis shops and cell phones in schools. Tune In Anytime.

• Tomorrow evening at 5 p.m., The Peconic Community School in Cutchogue host Circus Splendiferous, a one-hour show, including aerials, followed by a one-hour interactive kids workshop. Find Out More.
